Why and When we speak spanish in public 1-4

1. Marquez and her family "haven't adopted English as an official language" because they want to keep their cultural roots and have respect and comfort for their culture and family. I dont think it is rude or arrogant at all if a person chooses to speak Spanish rather than English in public.
2. The government doesn't make an official language for the US because the whole point in being an American is to be allowed to practice your own culture comfortably in your own home and in public.
3. This is a nicely written article. It flows very well and seems as though she is talking directly to you in a normal conversation. The article is straight forward and to-the-point. Also, she has a lot of good support that support her main points.
4. I think this genre is especially valuable because it is very easy to read and seems as if she is comfortably talking to you. The article is written well and is full of detail and support.
